Free Art Reception: Lines in Space by S.K. Sahni
Free art reception with light refreshments.
As explained by the artist, “A Line is like a sacred thread with which I create my work without any preconceived notion, sketch, or idea. I build my image directly with lines on the canvas or paper gradually, and painstakingly. I do not intend to represent any man made or nature made object in my work. My emphasis is to build a unique abstract image.” A collection of thirty-eight works in acrylic, and pen and ink have been carefully selected to demonstrate S.K. Sahni’s pursuit of the line.
Since 1995 he has been a full-time painter. He has a keen interest in the creative manipulation of the straight line. To S.K., the straight lines are not lifeless strokes on a surface – rather, they are the very essence of his creative endeavors through which he builds an image…unique and beyond reality.
The exhibition opens June 25 and runs through July 29. There will be an artist’s reception July 1, 3:00 PM -5:00 PM. Artwork is available for purchase. The public is invited to this free event. Light refreshments will be served.
