Summer Concerts at the Eustis Estate: John Sullivan Trio
Join us for summer concerts on the expansive lawn of the Eustis Estate, presented with Mandorla Music. Bring a picnic and enjoy music as the sun sets.
Bassist John Sullivan attended New England Conservatory in the late 90s and then spent nearly 20 fruitful years in NYC, playing and recording with folks like Roy Haynes, Robert Glasper, and Walter Smith. After John and his family moved to Milton in 2017, he quickly became a first-call bassist on the Boston scene. John will be joined by longtime collaborator pianist Dan Pappas and rising drummer Ilya Blazh.
Sullivan’s modern approach to Jazz is rooted in Bebop, Post-bop, R&B, Hip-hop, Rock and classical music. The Trio features original compositions and revamped Jazz classics with an emphasis on swing, groove, surprising harmonies, and rich timbral melding of sound.
