Tales of New England Vampires by Candelight

Looking for a fun Halloween event or great date night? Don’t miss this evening of spooky, local legends as Dr. F. Susan Jarek-Glidden shares tales of New England Vampires by candelight. What a great way to celebrate Halloween! Please note seating is limited.

During the 18th and 19th Century in New England, something began killing families in many communities. People were dying, followed by other members of their family, and then members of their community. Nobody knew why. There were whispers of panic within the community: “Vampires are among us……”.

Tales of New England Vampire Panic will begin at sundown (7:00 pm) at the Quincy Community United Methodist Church, 40 Beale Street, Quincy, MA 02170. Admission is a $5.00 donation per person (suggested ages 10 and up). All children (up to age 17) must be accompanied by an adult. If you would like to get a ticket in advance of the event, please call the QCUMC at 617-773-3319 or email qcumc2@comcast.net. No photography, videotaping or mirrors are permitted during the presentation.

Regarded as a local expert on the subject, Dr. Jarek-Glidden has been invited to do presentations at multiple New England venues in Western MA, the Cape, the North Shore and the South Shore. She has twice been invented to speak at the locally famous summer event, Tales of the Cape, and will be making her third appearance at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History. Dr. Jarek-Glidden holds a B.A. from Elms College in Chicopee, MA, M.A. from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. and a Ph.D. from Boston University. She and her husband have just returned from a trip to Transylvania.
