The QArts Gallery presents local artist Tsun Ming Chmielinski
The QArts Gallery will be featuring Quincy artist and Quincy Art Association member Tsun Ming Chmielinski in a solo exhibition “A Colorful Journey”, consisting of sumi-e, oil, acrylic, and pastel works. Effortlessly switching between mediums to capture life’s bold, beautiful motions, Tsun Ming paints with spontaneity and rich colors that embody serenity, joy, and wonder. The show will be on view from September 8 to October 30, 2022.
Born in China and raised in Hong Kong, Tsun Ming began painting at age fourteen as a private student of the late Zen Master, Shaw Lup Sing. Tsun Ming then immigrated to the United States in 1976 to pursue an academic education and career, earning a BA in Finance from University of Massachusetts, an MBA from Bentley University, and an MA in Business Communication from Emerson College, all while raising a family and continuing her practice under Jan Zaremba, a German Sumi-e Master.
She has been teaching an art program at Foxhill Village, an independent living community, for well over a decade, and also conducts private lessons in her Quincy studio. Tsun Ming’s art has received numerous 1st place awards, been showcased in museums, and many of her works hang in private collections in the US and abroad. During the pandemic, she even brought her art to online audiences in the metaverse, see https://www.voxels.com/parcels/2107 to enjoy seeing more of Tsun Ming’s art, her personal story, and photos, on 4 floors of the virtual gallery!
